Kumara Gupta (415-454 CE): Kumaragupta I was ruler of Chandragupta II was succeeded by his son Kumaragupta I. Known as the Mahendraditya in 414 AD. He ruled up to 455 AD. Towards the end of his reign a tribe in the Narmada valley, known as the Pushyamitras, rose in revolt to threaten the empire.
Kumara Gupta, who succeeded Chandra Gupta‖, ruled for 40 years, and was a powerful king. Kumara Gupta was followed by Skanda Gupta (454-4687CE).Through powerful, Skanda Gupta had to contend with the invading Huns from Central Asia. Through he managed to defeat them, the power of the Guptas started declining after his death. By 550CE, almost all of what was the Gupta Empire vanished.
